Prof. Jung Hee Cheon

Professor, Department of Mathematics in Seoul National University

Director of Cryptographic Hard Problem Research Initiatives

Prof. Jung Hee Cheon is a professor in the department of mathematical sciences and the director of the Industrial and Mathematical Data Analytics Reseach Center (IMDARC) at Seoul National University (SNU). He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from KAIST in 1991, and 1997, respectively. Before joining SNU, he worked for ETRI, Brown University and ICU. He received the best paper award in Asiacrypt 2008 and Eurocrypt 2015. His research focuses on computational number theory, cryptology and their applications to practical problems. He is an associate editor of "Design, Codes and Cryptography" and "Journal of Communication Network", will join to the editorial board of "Journal of Cryptology" which is the most prestigious journal in Cryptology. He co-chaired ANTS-XI and Asiacrypt 2015/2016 and served as program committee for Crypto, Eurocrypt, Asiacrypt and so on.
